We keep a small herd of ADGA registered American Saanen dairy goats for milk and show.
We have kids available every spring, as well as the occasional adult buck or doe,
including milkers and pregnant does.

Herd Health
- Our milking does are fed 18% protein Blue Seal dairy goat feed twice a day at the time they are milked. Our kids and dry does are fed a 14% protein goat pellet. Our bucks and wethers are kept on a primarily roughage-only diet, except for during breeding season, when they receive a small amount of grain to maintain a healthy weight.
- The goats are fed whatever quality hay is in season (generally blends containing orchard, timothy and/or alfalfa) twice daily, and are on pasture 24/7.
- The goats receive a quality loose mineral for goats, free choice from a PVC pipe feeder.
- Up until this year, all of our kids have been bottle raised. However, due to a change in circumstances this year, I will not have time to bottle feed. Kids will be dam raised, and supplemented with the occasional bottle to maintain friendliness towards humans.
- All kids are disbudded between 4 and 8 days old. We choose to remove horns due to the inherent danger they pose towards each other and their herdmates. Additionally, according to ADGA rules and regulations, horned goats cannot be shown.
- All of our goats receive their CD/T vaccines annually, with pregnant does receiving their vaccinations two weeks before kidding. Kids receive their initial shot at three weeks old, and their booster three weeks later.
- Adult goats receive a shot of Bo-Se twice a year; once before breeding season, and again 1 month before kidding.
- We supplement copper in the form of boluses (large capsules), which are administered twice a year.
- We deworm with Ivermectin 1% Injectable and Valbazen.
- Antibiotics are used only when absolutely necessary, and then in conjunction with Probios to help protect and repopulate essential rumen flora.
- Our entire herd is tested for CAE annually, and we have never had an animal test positive. Copies of all test results are available for viewing.
